Understanding 5 Diamond Blackjack
Find the Blackjack tables intimidating? I don’t think they are at all, but I’ve been playing Blackjack for at least 10 years. When I first started out though, I was a little intimidated. Not necessarily by other players. They were actually really helpful. But Blackjack is a game of decisions. You need to know whether to hit, stand, split, or double down based on the hand you’re dealt and the card that the dealer is showing.
If you don’t know what typical Blackjack strategy says, you might have a hard time getting the hang of the game at first. And that’s why I love 5 Diamond Blackjack at Palace of Chance.
5 Diamond Blackjack is a hybrid of Blackjack and one of those scratch-and-win tickets you buy at the grocery store.
Your goal is get as close to 21 as possible without going over – much like regular Blackjack played at the tables. And you need to have a better hand than the dealer to win – much like the real thing. But here’s where it gets interesting. Instead of playing just one hand, you’ve got five separate hands to work with.
It’s your five against the dealer’s. And one bet applies to all five hands, so if you bet $2, you’ve essentially got $2 down on all five hands. But you don’t have to win all five hands to come out ahead. Win just one of your five hands and you’ll win your bet. And if you happen to win more than one, you’ll get paid out for each hand you win.
There are some differences between 5 Diamond Blackjack and regular Blackjack. In the table game version, you have the option of hitting, standing, splitting, or doubling down. That’s not the case in 5 Diamond Blackjack, which is great if that intimidation factor is a big deal. You need to make the best using your two cards, which means you won’t receive any additional cards for each hand.
What’s more, the dealer’s hand is completely visible at all times. That runs contrary to what you’ll find in the table game version where only one dealer card is visible. Of course, there’s no point hiding a dealer card since you aren’t required to make any decisions.
5 Diamond Blackjack also comes with a special diamond symbol. If you land on a diamond, you’ll automatically win, regardless of what you’re holding. And there’s also a special Jackpot where you can win up to 4,000x your bet.
Overall, it’s a pretty fun, addictive, and impressive game. Check it out. It’s free to play at Palace of Chance with your account.
